Upon moving my parents from the family homestead of 49 years, Mom asked “What should I do with my wedding dress? I guess I’ll throw it out“, to which I replied, “I’ll take it and do something with it.”
After 2 years of the dress sitting in my house, I thought of making pillows from it.
I made a pillow out of the top of the dress for my parents and then, from the rest of the fabric, I made pillows for my two sisters and myself. I also made smaller pillows for each of the 6 grandchildren.
At the time, my parents had been married for 62 years. It is a lasting memory of the love and devotion they had throughout the 65 years they were married before mom’s passing.
Someone created a special dress for you…let me take that dress and create a special memory for you, your children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
I will turn the top of your wedding dress into a 16″x 16″ pillow and then make additional 14″ x 14″ pillows, 12″ x 12″ pillows or smaller pillows based upon size and available fabric.
Have one made for each family member so the memory of your day lives on.
